Climate From Space Competition
Enter for a chance to become ESA's Visiting Artist
***Due to the volume and high quality of submissions, a decision on the winner of the competition will be made during the week commencing 4th February.***
The European Space Agency's Climate Office seeks to develop new creative outreach material to communicate its work to the public.
We invite artists to submit an original concept that conveys the theme of “Climate from Space” to represent ESA Climate Office activities, which provides satellite data for climate research. The artwork can convey any aspect of this ESA Climate Office work, from how spaceborne data records provide the facts on which we base our global understanding of the climate system, to the wonder of viewing the Earth from space. It is your imagination that sets the scene!
The winner will be offered to work with the ESA Climate Office for a three-month period to develop their artistic concept. They will be commissioned to produce artistic work which will be displayed at the ESA Living Planet Symposium in Milan in May 2019.
Participation at the LPS will also give you the opportunity to champion dialogue with geoscientists on how to use visual communication to convey key climate change messages to the public.
A panel composed of artists and members of ESA will judge each submission on creativity, skill and on-topic relevance.
