11th Coastal Altimetry Workshop

12 - 15 June 2018
ESA-ESRIN, Frascati

The Coastal Altimetry Community (http://www.coastalt.eu/community), that is the international community of scientists working on development and applications of altimetry in the coastal zone, invites you to the European Space Agency establishment in Frascati (Italy), ESRIN, for the 11th Edition of the Coastal Altimetry Workshop (CAW-11) on 12-15 June 2018, including a Coastal Altimetry Training for Early Career Scientists. Coastal altimetry has become a recognised mission target for present and future satellite altimeters, also thanks to the successful results of SAR altimetry from CryoSat-2, Ka-band altimetry from SARAL/AltiKa and Sentinel-3A. This Workshop aims at being once again a lively forum for a community-led review of the science and applications of coastal altimetry, from data processing through emerging applications to new technologies.

The workshop will feature studies using the latest missions (including CryoSat-2, HY-2, AltiKa, Jason-3 and Sentinel-3). Special events are expected to include a session organised jointly with the Altimetry for Regional and Coastal Models (ARCOM) community of GODAE COSS-TT, plus dedicated sessions on Currents, Winds and Waves, Sea Level and Extreme Events, and Altimetry for Coastal Sea State Climate.
