This “debate”-type session will discuss how AI is impacting our society and economy, with focus on the space sector. This session will consist of lightning talks from researchers and AI corporate leaders into the various applications of AI - from computer vision to automation, robotics and edge computing – followed by a Round Table discussion on the various aspects of AI, from applications to ethics and education needs.

Session 2

Fostering Innovation in Europe for Space & ICT

This “overview” session will explore how Europe is fostering innovation, with focus on space, digital technologies and their interactions. Leaders from the European Commission (EC), European Space Agency (ESA), European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), and European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) will share their perspectives. A Q&A panel will then follow to explore how to better enable disruptive innovation in Europe, what are the gaps / needs / challenges and how to best respond to the AI global race led by US and China.
