  • Abstract Submission: Participants may propose an oral presentation for one of the Summit sessions or submit a poster to be displayed during coffee breaks.
  • Pitch Hour (Students only): BSc, MSc, and PhD students may apply to present a 5-minute pitch showcasing innovative ideas and research in Earth Observation and emerging technologies. Limited places are available. Selected participants will compete for the opportunity to join ESA Φ-lab as Visiting Researchers.   • Side Event Proposal: Entities interested in organizing a side event during the Summit are invited to submit their proposal, defining the theme and format. Side events are designed to foster deeper exploration, bold thinking, and cross-disciplinary exchanges. All organizational responsibilities rest with the proposing entity.
Important: Submission does not confirm attendance to the event. All accepted presenters must complete the Event Registration (HERE) and pay the registration fee by 1 June 2026 to secure attendance.

ESA Academy Student Sponsorship

ESA Education Office will sponsor up to 12 tertiary education students to attend the Summit. The sponsorship includes:
  • Registration fee
  • Up to EUR 350 for travel
  • Up to EUR 225 for accommodation (max 3 nights)

Please note that participation to the sponsorship is reserved to individuals coming form ESA Member States, Canada and ESA Associate Member States and Cooperating States.

These interactive sessions are designed to encourage deeper exploration, bold thinking and cross-disciplinary exchanges.

PITCH HOUR APPLICATION

ESA Academy Student Sponsorship

The ESA Education Office is pleased to sponsor up to 12 tertiary education students to attend the Φnnovation Summit 2026 under the ESA Academy Conference Student Sponsorship programme.
The sponsorship covers:

  • the student registration fee;
  • up to EUR 350 for travel;
  • up to EUR 225 for accommodation (up to 3 nights).

Reimbursements will be made via a single bank transfer after the event, upon submission of receipts.

To be eligible for an ESA Academy Student Sponsorship, students must fulfil the following criteria at the time of application:

  • individually present an accepted contribution at the conference (oral presentation, poster, other);
  • be minimum 18 years old at the time of the conference;
  • be a citizen of an ESA Member State, Associate Member, or Canada;
  • be enrolled as a student (Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate.) in a tertiary education academic programme (not graduating before the Conference);
  • not benefit from an overlapping financial support to attend this conference, unless duly justified;
  • agree with the conditions of the ESA Academy’s Privacy Policy.

Priority will be given to students who have less than 2 years of professional experience and have never taken part in an activity sponsored by the ESA Education Office.

The decision by the Selection Committee will be communicated by 15 April 2026.

During the first two days of the event, talented students (MSc, and PhD) will take the stage to deliver 5-minute pitches showcasing their boldest ideas and research in Earth Observation and emerging technologies.

With only six slots available per day, this session is designed to highlight fresh perspectives and early-stage innovation. Each day will conclude with the selection of a Pitch Hour winner, who will be offered the opportunity to join ESA Φ-lab as a Visiting Researcher. The winners will be awarded on stage during the last day of the conference.
