It is our pleasure to announce the 5^th ESA Workshop on Advanced Flexible Telecom Payloads jointly organised by the European Space Agency’s Directorates of Technology, Engineering and Quality Management (D/TEC) and Connectivity and Secure Communications (D/CSC). This edition will take place on 18^th - 20^th March 2025 at ESA/ECSAT (United Kingdom).

We have been witnessing revolutionary achievements in payload technologies and products, enabling the development of in-orbit reconfigurable telecommunication satellites. These advances in the payload technology play a crucial role to achieve the highest level of adaptability in the dynamic allocation of finite on-board satellite resources, coverage and capacity to answer the everchanging needs of our telecom market. Modular technologies, digitally configurable payload units, reconfigurable antennas, high-performance on-board processors with dense integration levels of contemporary electronic-photonic technologies, incorporation of machine learning and artificial intelligence to boost the autonomy of our satellite networks are just a few among many topics that the workshop will address.

Established in 2008, the workshop is a unique opportunity to explore the advances in flexible payload products and solutions, to engage in discussion sessions led by the experts in the field and to connect with participants from a large variety of domains in the telecommunication business Worldwide.

Workshop registration is open to Worldwide satcom stakeholders, including operators, manufacturers, research institutions and universities.
