In the frame of the ESA Living Planet Symposium 2019 (LPS 2019), ESA and ASI are proud to announce the LPS 2019 Climate Detectives School Award. The award is open to teams participating in the ESA Climate Detectives 2018-2019 school project.

The Climate Detectives project challenges 8 to 15 years old students to investigate a climate problem using Earth observation data, either obtained by satellites or taking direct measurements on the ground. Based on their investigation, the students will then have to propose actions to help reduce the problem.

All Climate Detectives teams can apply for the LPS 2019 Climate Detectives School Award! A jury of experts will select the best Climate Detectives projects and invite the award winning teams to present their findings to an international audience during at the ESA 2019 Living Planet Symposium (Milan, Italy, 13-17 May 2019), like real scientists!
