This event is managed in a sustainable manner by Nikal FM S.r.l., following the UNI EN ISO 20121 standards.

Nikal’s commitment is to organize this event basing it on a Sustainability Management Plan that takes care of its environmental, social and economic aspects. The objective is to share awareness and responsibility with all the parties involved. Being responsible and sustainable means designing and implementing an event in order to minimize, where possible, the negative effects on the environment and community.

Therefore, Nikal wants to apply the principles of:

Inclusiveness: the willingness to listen and fully and meaningfully involve all stakeholders. This will reflect on the maximization of events participation by breaking down borders and any barriers and by guaranteeing equal opportunities and accessibility to everyone.

Integrity: the ability to keep promises and commitments made to all interested parties. This will help in guaranteeing to all stakeholders a responsible management of every step managed for the realization of sustainable events, from a social, environmental and economic point of view. Nikal’s integrity is aimed to ensure respect for human rights and compliance with labor regulations in terms of health and safety protection.

Management effectiveness: the attention to the parties involved expectations and rights, the awareness and the responsibility for the impact of every single action performed. The focus will be also on reducing, where possible and compatibly with the purpose of the event, the negative environmental impacts, making all stakeholders involved aware of sustainability issues and principles. These subjects will be also considered under the economic point of view in order to ensure compliance with the established budget.

Transparency: the willingness to share information, real experiences and good practices. Nikal wants to communicate transparently for the realization of each event, giving evidence of actions, providing correct and accessible information, giving relevant and timely responses. Everything done in order to make all stakeholders aware of sustainability issues and principles.

Our objectives in terms of sustainability for this event are the following ones:

- Collecting a maximum of 30% of unsorted waste, by inviting all stakeholders to sort garbage as much as possible and having a reasonable number of dedicated bins all around the site;

- Avoiding using plastic and save around 900 kg of it, by giving to all participants an alluminium can to drink, instead of using mono-use plastic glasses;

- Recycling at least 30% of all participants’ badges by placing dedicated baskets to collect them at the end of the event;

- Having zero complaints for accessibility to the event site, by ensuring that anyone can easily reach the conference areas.

Achieved results:

- Unsorted waste produced: 24%;

- Amount of plastic saved: 226,5 kg;

- Recycled badges: 45%;

- Complaints: 0.
